Narconon Ojai Hosts 4th Annual Golf Tournament Benefiting Ojai Youth Foundation

Narconon Ojai Golf Tournament

Ojai, CA — October 14, 2024: Narconon Ojai held its 4th annual charity golf tournament at the renowned Ojai Valley Inn, drawing support from the local community to raise funds for the Ojai Youth Foundation. The event featured a day of friendly competition, special guests, and a remarkable prize—a classic 1968 Chevy truck—for anyone who scored a hole-in-one on the course’s signature “Lost Hole.” This hole was originally designed by legendary golf course architect George C. Thomas but was abandoned during World War II when the site was converted into a military training camp.

Over the past four years, Narconon Ojai’s tournament has raised more than $7,500 for the Ojai Youth Foundation. This year, proceeds will help fund drug education programs in the local school system, a key initiative aimed at preventing drug abuse before it starts.

“We are proud to continue supporting the Ojai Youth Foundation in their mission to educate and empower our local youth,” said Fabian Padro, Executive Director of Narconon Ojai. “By providing critical drug education, we are giving students the tools they need to make positive, informed choices.”

Special guests at the tournament included members of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the Ojai Fire Department, and the voice of UCLA sports, Chuck White. White was joined by UCLA golfer Omar Morales, fresh from his appearance in this year’s U.S. Open. Morales took time to meet 14-year-old Isaac Garcia, who recently won the Junior Tri-County Championship, covering Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties. The two young athletes posed for photos, capturing a moment of inspiration for future champions.

The day concluded with a highlight presentation, as Fabian Padro presented a check for $2,500 to Ojai Youth Foundation President, James Fleming. Fleming expressed his gratitude for the ongoing partnership with Narconon Ojai, noting how the funds are instrumental in supporting innovative programs such as underwater robotics and an upcoming space exploration initiative.

“Our collaboration with Narconon Ojai allows us to take preventative measures, educating young people about the dangers of drug abuse before they even consider experimenting,” Fleming said. “The programs we’re able to fund with these proceeds—like underwater robotics and future space exploration—engage students in exciting, positive pursuits that inspire them to dream big.”

“I’ve seen the remarkable transformations firsthand—people entering the program struggling with addiction and emerging renewed and rehabilitated. Narconon’s work is truly inspiring.”

Fleming also praised Narconon Ojai’s program, acknowledging the life-changing impact it has on individuals battling addiction. “I’ve seen the remarkable transformations firsthand—people entering the program struggling with addiction and emerging renewed and rehabilitated. The event, filled with goodwill and community spirit, reinforced Narconon Ojai’s commitment to supporting local youth through drug education, helping create a brighter, drug-free future for the next generation.
