Saved from the Nightmare that Was My Life

 

When I first arrived at Narconon, I felt empty. I was lost and numb to everything around me as a result of my substance abuse. I’d truly forgotten who I was and lost all my will to wake up in the morning and do anything productive and it felt like nothing could make me smile.

Withdrawal was tough for me because I was struggling with numerous health issues as well, such as being unable to sleep or eat. After two weeks in withdrawal, you wouldn’t even know any of those things were wrong with me. The New Life Detoxification honestly changed my life by helping to remove the residues from my substance abuse from my system and really giving me time to reflect on my life. I came out feeling more alive than I had in years…

I could move, breathe and just fully function better than I had in years. Going to the course room just pulled it all together and got my mind right. I am more sure, calm, focused and hopeful than I believe I’ve ever been and at times it doesn’t seem real.

I think back to the day Fabian came to the hospital and saved me from the nightmare that was my life and man I can’t thank him and all the staff at Narconon enough for the long hours of dealing with my emotions, fears and struggles until I felt better. Although I know I have a long way to go in life and there are more wins to be had I feel so freaking good.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep growing and learning as an intern and I’m excited to see what my new life will look like.

I know for a fact I blossomed here and although I didn’t come here under the best of circumstances, I’m glad life led me here. Out of the worst thing that ever happened to me came the best thing that ever happened to me.
